Welcome to the Scotland 1 Web Site.

On this site you will be able to find out about the "Blue Knights", what we do, whether you are eligible to join and some other information. You can also check out what we are up to in the Latest News page.

The BLUE KNIGHTS® is a non-profit fraternal organization consisting of active and retired law enforcement men & women who enjoy riding motorcycles.

In the Spring of 1974, several law enforcement officers* from the Bangor, Maine (USA) area met and and formed a small, local motorcycle club. The rest, as they say, is history.

Soon, Blue Knight chapters were being formed in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and beyond. With the addition of Canada, and later Australia, the Blue Knights became an international organization.

Scotland 1 is a non geographic chapter covering the whole of Scotland and was formed in February 2002 with 11 members.

By the end of 2003 Scotland 1 was the biggest chapter in the UK with around 80 members. In November 2008, 10 of our 110 members formed Scotland 2.

Members from Scotland 1 are very active in the club and can often be found at rallies throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe. We run their own rally every second year at the Scottish Police College and since formed we have raised in the region of £30,000 for various charities.

Scotland 1 has always been well represented at the COPS Lawride each July, and will continue to be.

We currently have members living in Scotland, Canada, Belgium, Germany, Northern Ireland, and Iraq (and probably Afghanistan).

Scotland 1 designed and produce the Official Blue Knights Tartan, and hand made traditional kilts.

We are a member of the UK & Ireland Conference which currently consists of 20 chapters and around 700 members.

In November 2008 Scotland 2 was formed as a sister Chapter to Scotland 1. The Chapter was formed by 10 members from Scotland I and is based in Dunfermline.
